Flowering or Blooming teas are handcrafted rosettes of premium white, green, and black tea leaves that
bloom into an elegant work of art when steeped in hot water.
These teas are picked in the early morning while still damp. The leaves are then flattened and
hand sewn with fine cotton threads into the various shapes and bundles. Some are also scented
with jasmine blossoms before sewing begins for a more floral flavor.
Many shapes take only a minute to sew while other more elaborate designs of lilies or oesmanthus
may take up to ten minutes. While still moist the leaves are shaped into balls, mushrooms, cones, etc.
Finally, the teas go through the usual drying, oxidation, and firing process.
